FAQ
Questions clients often ask.
What concerns do you help with?
I work with teens ages 13 and older and adults experiencing anxiety, stress and burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, family dynamics, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, and personal growth. If you are unsure whether your concerns are a good fit, feel free to reach out. I would be happy to help determine whether my practice is the right place to start.
Do you provide therapy to children?
I provide individual therapy to teens ages 13 and older and adults. I do not currently provide individual therapy to children age 12 or younger. If you are a parent seeking support with your child's emotions, behavior, communication, school stress, or family dynamics, a Parent Support Consultation may be a helpful next step. These sessions are held with one or both parents and do not include the child.
What can I expect during therapy?
Therapy is a conversation. There is nothing you need to bring except yourself. During our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve. Together, we will develop goals and create a plan that feels right for you. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your individual needs.
How often will we meet, and how long will I be in therapy?
Many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish goals. As progress is made, some transition to biweekly or less frequent sessions. The length of therapy varies for each person and depends on your goals and needs.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I accept several insurance plans through Headway. You can verify your benefits and view accepted plans when scheduling your appointment. If you do not have insurance or prefer not to use it, private-pay options are also available. Please contact me for current rates.
What do I need for virtual therapy?
You will need a reliable internet connection, a computer, tablet, or smartphone, and a private, quiet space where you feel comfortable talking.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a $50 fee.
Do you offer parent support?
Yes. Virtual Parent Support Consultation Sessions provide a dedicated space for parents to discuss concerns about their child's emotions, behavior, communication, coping skills, or family dynamics. These sessions are educational and consultative; they are not therapy and do not include your child. Sessions are held with the parent or parents only to help you better understand your child's emotional and behavioral needs while providing practical strategies you can begin using at home.
Still deciding whether therapy is a good fit?
You are welcome to reach out with questions before scheduling. A brief conversation can help clarify next steps.
